BERNABE VILLODRE, María del Mar e GARRES PEREZ, Francisco Joaquín. Reflection on Clarinet Teaching in Music Conservatories in Spain: Legislation,Theory, and Reality. Prax. Saber [online]. 2024, vol.15, n.40, pp.120-136. Epub 27-Fev-2025. ISSN 2216-0159. https://doi.org/10.19053/22160159.v15.n40.2024.15755.
The conservatism promoted in the music conservatories of Spain, often supported by educational legislation, needs to adapt to the changing times, especially in terms of instrumental teaching approaches derived from students' needs. This exploratory, descriptive, and reflective research shows how legislation and theory in the final cycle of Professional Education differ greatly from the actual practical needs of students who must take the Entrance Exam for Higher Music Education. This reflection is the result of experiential doctoral research and is based on data collected through legislative analysis and fundamental didactic theory in the world of instrumental teaching, as well as feedback from students and teachers in both educational stages. The aim is to demonstrate the need for a theoretical-practical-legislative review so that students and teachers can evaluate what works in terms of didactic practice in the classroom, resulting in a sufficiently grounded reflection that leads to a didactic and legislative reconsideration.
