This article examines how an indigenous community in Colombia uses technologies in its pedagogical practices. Using participatory action research, the study employs workshops and interviews to explore the practices that remain and those that have been lost or are unknown to the younger generation. The study challenges the essentialist views of these practices and seeks to access traditional knowledge as a means of preserving ancestral practices, despite the changes brought by modern technology, which are more detectable in the youngest generation. The main argument is that identity should not confine indigenous people to the past or hinder intercultural communication, especially when their pedagogical practices offer alternative ways of producing and understanding knowledge.
