Introduction: Prenatal care is defined as all actions and procedures, regular and periodical, intended for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of factors which can coordinate and maternal morbidity and perinatal mortality. The death of a mother is an avoidable tragedy involving a young life full of great hopes, is one of the most traumatic experiences a family can suffer and seriously affects the welfare, survival and development of children, especially the most small. All this results in the weakening of the social structure in general. Materials and Methods: It is a cross sectional study, which were identified as important aspects of sociodemographic, clinical, access and adherence barriers for early beginning to the control prenatal of pregnant women that consult in a childlike mother unit. Results: Prenatal care is a basic strategy for identifying risk factors and physiological changes in any pregnant patient. Results in this paper will show the positive impact when they do not affect the risk variables. Discussion and Conclusions: It is shown that a sufficient number of antenatal visits and conducted in early, these patients may be contained in your situation and arrive at a very important decrease in perinatal mortality.
