Introduction: Dengue is an acute viral disease, caused by dengue virus, transmitted by the aedes aegypti flying insect, which breeds in standing water in containers and unused objects. There are four dengue virus serotypes 1, 2, 3 and 4. The first time a person is infected by any of four virus acquieres the classical dengue. You"ll never have the same virus dengue but remains exposed to the other serotype. It is a necessity that nurses have clear knowledge and clinical course of the disease so that there is early attention to a rapidly progressive disease in the community. Materials and Methods: Article about Report of Case about a 7-year-old patient who comes to the first aid service in a health Institution in the city of Bucaramanga (Santander). Results: For this case was decided make a nursing care planning for give the child taking into account the time disease from admission to discharge and monitoring at home, were conducted teaching activities of the disease process describing signs and symptoms, process, etiology, and the chronic complications of the disease. Discussion and Conclusions: At the end of our article we realized that so far no country has achieved complete eradication of the dengue vector, but we believe that control of epidemics can be achieved by controlling the vector by spraying campaigns, education campaigns of the population and also clean up the environment.
