Abstract

Introduction: The work environment has become the workspace where people pass the most amount of time. Here we can see the importance of promoting good health amongst our workers; workers in the nursing profession constitute a collective subject of care. Therefore it is essential in the formation of the nursing profession, that they understand the importance of extending their role to other contexts by providing holistic care, in order to promote good health. Materials and Methods: Case report of a company dedicated to the manufacturing of wood furniture in the city of Bucaramanga (Santander), where we applied the taxonomy of valuation domains of Nanda, the nursing outcomes classification (NOC) and nursing interventions classification (NIC). Results: The case facilitated perform a nursing intervention proposal to the factors found in a work environment, proposed as environmental management: worker safety (6489) (NIC) (11), in which it's activities are based on health education promoting healthy behaviors according to the factors found in the workplace. Discussion and Conclusions: At the end of the analysis is able to identify and recognize the importance of health promotion in different contexts, the process enabled a proposal oriented intervention promoting healthy behaviors in the work environment that included training in the safe use tools, use of personal protective equipment, building social security affiliation by employers to avoid later claims for accidents at work or occupational disease on employees.
