Introduction: In the last decades of the XX century, the teaching/learning process in nursing was characterized by a traditional and conservative pedagogical practice, however, it is already possible on the way in the XXI century, understand new scenario of changes that generate a scientific process of modernization and technological knowledge construction. This study aimed to comprehend the perception of nursing students on the strategy of the case study. Materials and Methods: This is a field research, exploratory, descriptive and analytical, qualitative approach, which was attended by fifteen nursing students. Data were analyzed using the technique of content analysis of Bardin. Results and Discussion: The analysis emerged two thematic categories: Case Study as a possibility for interdisciplinary and case study as a teaching strategy that favors rapprochement between theory and practice. The strategy of the case study is a possibility to relate knowledge across various disciplines of undergraduate course in Nursing. Conclusions: It can be concluded that nursing students consider the case study method allows for interdisciplinarity, and you can relate and use knowledge across disciplines graduation, so that this methodology has stimulated the search, with liberty, by new knowledge, with the teacher as the facilitator of this process, sharing responsibility in knowledge building
