Abstract

Introduction: The increasing incidence of tuberculosis and the high dropout rate treatment causes this disease is a serious public health problem, especially for the occurrence of multidrug resistance. This study makes an Integrative Review of Literature aimed to analyze and discuss the Brazilian scientific production on prevention and control of tuberculosis to subsidize the construction of an Educational Technology in Health destined to contacts of patients with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis. Material and Methods: Articles were selected on the website of the Virtual Health Library / LILACS and SciELO using the key words: prevention and control, associated with the descriptor tuberculosis. The search resulted in 186 articles after applied the inclusion and exclusion criteria were listed 8 full articles. Results: After analyzing, the articles gathered the results in 03 thematic categories: Difficulties on prevention and control of tuberculosis; Knowledge of the patient and family about the disease and stigma of tuberculosis. Discussion: Resultsshowed that there are still major barriers to overcome for tuberculosis control becomes effective, the greatest difficulties are in context of ignorance about the disease and the stigma of tuberculosis, leaving only the explicit access to diagnosis and medication not are sufficient for an effective adhesion. Conclusions: Concludes that it is essential to ensure the information and clarification of key aspects of the disease, with educational technologies, in order to enter patients and families as key components in the process of coping with it, contributing to the prevention and control of this endemic disease.
