Abstract

FALLA RAMIREZ, Uva. The Intentionality of Intervention in Social Work. Trab. soc. [online]. 2017, n.19, pp.123-135. ISSN 2256-5493.

Seen from the perspective of Max Weber's contributions, professional intervention is the action with a subjective meaning decided on by the actors, in this case, the social workers, on the basis of which the objectives, goals, and intentionality of the action are determined. This serves as the basis for understanding the ethical and political considerations of the social workers, which are mediated by the theoretical matrixes or paradigms they assume in their daily lives. The objective of this article is not to offer a conclusive exegesis, but rather to explore those issues and propose some discussion topics.

Keywords : daily practice; ethical-political aspect; intentionality; professional intervention; Social Work; theoretical matrixes.
