Abstract

The objective of this research article is to analyze the repercussions of migration to the United States on the dynamics of families, whose head of household is an older adult living in the rural areas of to the northwest of the State of Mexico. The study identifies changes in intergenerational relations, as well as some situations of vulnerability of those family members left behind in their hometowns. It also provides arguments in favor of a Social Work, community-type intervention to improve the welfare of that population.
