Abstract

CUBILLOS-VEGA, Carla. Education in Human Rights with a Critical Pedagogical Approach: A Case Study. Trab. soc. [online]. 2020, vol.22, n.1, pp.177-200. ISSN 2256-5493.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ts.v22n1.77786.

The article addresses the impact of education in Human Rights on Social Work students in a Spanish university, using a critical pedagogical approach. It analyzes the learning and understanding of lessons as well as the students' perceptions. Data was gathered by using vignettes with cases, a validated rubric, and two focal groups. Results show that students were able to reflect more critically on issues related to Human Rights, integrating theory and action. Furthermore, their education led them to grasp the ethical-political dimension of their future professional activity and assess it positively.
