Resumen

SORDINI, María Victoria. Reciprocity Practices in Soup Kitchens: Between Love, Trust, and Hope. Trab. soc. [online]. 2023, vol.25, n.1, pp.111-142.  Epub 01-Mar-2023. ISSN 2256-5493.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ts.v25n1.102389.

The collective organization of eating is sustained by the permanent tension between philanthropic solidarity and the reciprocal practices of those who participate daily in the dining room. The objective of this article is to identify the emotions linked to the reciprocity practices displayed by women who participated in community kitchens in General Pueyrredón between 2015 and 2020. The bodies/emotions of the women interviewed have resisted inequality and the need for food for more than three decades. The practices that unfold from love, trust, and hope as the possibility of encountering others entail a common view of possible and desirable horizons of action.

Palabras clave : body; emotions; social policies; food programs; hunger; women; food practices; soup kitchen; solidarity; reciprocity.
