Abstract

ESTRADA-ESPONDA, Royer David; LOPEZ-BENITEZ, Mauricio  and  GUTIERREZ-REYES, Raul Ernesto. Methodological experience for the integration of the subjects User Interface Design and Software Development II through a project-based approach. LogosCyT [online]. 2019, vol.11, n.3, pp.94-106.  Epub Dec 28, 2019. ISSN 2145-594X.  https://doi.org/10.22335/rlct.v11i2.958.

The article presents a pedagogical and methodological experience in the field of integrating project development in the academic program, Information Systems Technology, at the Universidad del Valle, Tuluá headquarters, motivated by the analysis of the results of the first approximation of the integration of the subjects, Software Development II and User Interface Design. This experience was guided by the different phases of planning, support and evaluation, which were the result of the review of the literature associated with project-based learning. The results show the change in the perception of the students regarding the integrating projects, as well as a 33% improvement in the quantitative grade of the integrating project compared to the first approximation. In addition, it is identified that the experience favored the acquisition of transversal skills included in the educational project of the program and, therefore, its results can be a reference for any academic training program in the country.

Keywords : higher education; software engineering; usability and accessibility engineering; action research; integrating projects.
