SANCHEZ ALMEYDA, Sandra Noemí; MANDUJANO MONTOYA, Anayely and VERA ZAMORA, Priscila Alejandra. Desertion among cadets: a study on the causes of abandonment of police life. Rev. logos cienc. tecnol. This scientific article focuses on the analysis of the desertion of police trainees, focusing on the possible causes of desertion and the strategies that affect their retention of police life. This is a study with a quantitative methodology, of a cross-sectional descriptive type, with a non-probabilistic random sample of “n” cadets who decided to withdraw from their initial training, using a survey as an instrument. The most relevant results that motivated them to abandon their training were family and the adaptation to police life, with which we can understand the underlying causes of desertion, and thus try to implement effective retention measures for police trainees.
Keywords : Cadets; desertion; police training; police in training; retention.
