Resumen

SANABRIA, Wilson Alexander; CORTES OLARTE, Gonzalo Andrés  y  MEDINA CARRION, Oscar Fernando. Identification of variables for managing diversity and workplace inclusion in the National Police. Rev. logos cienc. tecnol. [online]. 2025, vol.17, n.1, pp.194-216.  Epub 09-Feb-2025. ISSN 2145-594X.  https://doi.org/10.22335/rlct.v17i1.1952.

Organizations today are increasingly compelled to rethink standardized processes for managing personnel, aligning them with megatrends that define the new modernity. Through the interpretive paradigm of qualitative research, this study identifies the variables that impact the management of diversity and workplace inclusion within the Colombian National Police. The research adopts a descriptive, cross-sectional design and uses deductive analysis to explore the similaritiesand differences between the concepts of diversity and inclusion in a workplace context. The findings, presented in this reflective article, draw on the “Four Layers of Diversity” model by Gardenswartz and Rowe (2008) and the “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)” model by Arsel et al. (2022). Combined with the institution’s specific needs, these insights lead to the development of the “Diversity and Workplace Inclusion Management Model for the Police” (GEDIL-PONAL), designed to ensure comprehensive management of diversity and inclusion in policing. Additionally, the study underscores the importance of advancing infrastructure and software development to enable the collection of accurate, up-to-date, and actionable data. These technological improvements would support advanced analytics, paving the way for differentiated human talent strategies informed by the study’s findings.
