Abstract

ESCOBAR VALENCIA, Myriam; GOMEZ VILLARREAL, Constanza  and  CAMACHO ARANGUREN, Miguel. El movimiento de la Calidad en Colombia 1930-2010. Una mirada desde las políticas públicas. Ens. Econ. [online]. 2017, vol.27, n.50, pp.65-85. ISSN 0121-117X.

The interest in advancing this research arises from the absence of centralized information that allows us to observe the process, which has allowed the incorporation of the own quality strategies in Colombia, both from studies of quality management and from those built from economic or business history. The concept of "movement" is taken from theories of culture, because the implementation of quality in the industrial sectors, brought changes in the ways, uses and ways of facing the productive system. This research presents, then, the main moments that have influenced the adoption of the quality movement, making an analysis of public policies (mainly economic and state management) and their possible influence, in the advance of the technical infrastructure and the adoption of quality in Colombia. Where the role of the State from surveillance, to the promotion of quality, seems to evolve along with the changes and strategies present in increasingly globalized markets.
