This article analyzes the relationship between means of production, development of knowledge and transformations in human subjectivity. We discuss the power of the kind of knowledge that becomes objectified in its means of production and we study diverse concrete forms of the means of production relative to advances in knowledge. We also analyze machines as a qualitative step forward from the general preceding form: tools. Finally, we analyze briefly the concrete technical forms of machines as a means of production, reviewing their current development.
