Recently, our cherished journal, Investigación y Educación en Enfermería, was added to Thomson Reuters' Web of Knowledge (formerly ISI-Thomson) bibliographic citation index, which covers the most important and influential specialized international journals in all areas of knowledge and which annually publishes information on impact factors in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). The evaluation process for our journal included verification of rigorous criteria, among them punctuality of the publication, application of the peer review process, contribution to existing scientific coverage on the theme, and the proportion of collaborating authors and members from the scientific and editorial committees from countries other than Colombia, given the need for knowledge to be published within a global context.

This is a reward to the quality of our journal. As editor of this publication, I express my heartfelt congratulations and sincere recognition for the invaluable work developed by our collaborating authors, to the people who support us from the Scientific and Editorial Committees and those who participated in the irreplaceable review of the articles, which has been an example of impartiality and independence of judgment. I also thank our readers, who during 32 years of editing the Investigación y Educación en Enfermería journal have accompanied us in this space for reflection and debate, a function that is so characteristic of research scenarios.

Congratulations, also, to everyone who in one way or another has supported and participated with Investigación y Educación en Enfermería; we rely on your constant support and enthusiasm to make this the best means of publication.
