1Editor and director, Revista Colombiana de Gastroenterología.

Dear and respected readers of the Revista Colombiana de Gastroenterología, please accept a heartfelt greeting from the editorial group. We are pleased to present issue number 2 of volume 36 of our beloved journal.

This issue includes an interesting editorial by Dr. Robin Prieto, a member of the editorial committee, in which he describes the process of updating the Journal over the last 5 years and describes the latest developments that have changed visibility and accessibility and improved its impact at the international level.

Please keep in mind that this issue contains mainly original works, which are those that, due to their methodological design, are more difficult to prepare and require more work from the authors. This is noteworthy because it boosts reader interest while also raising the Journal’s level of competence and quality.

Moreover, interesting and useful articles on various sites of the digestive system, such as esophagus, stomach, bile duct, liver, and anus, are presented.

Remember that the editorial committee now requests reviews from experts on relevant topics, considering the progress made and their use in daily practice. For this specific issue, we asked experts to update us and provide us with a deeper insight into the technology that is available now in the country, such as the EndoFLIP®, which is used to treat esophageal disorders. Another relevant topic addressed in the context of these challenging times as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has raised many questions, is immunization in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). A review of new methods for the diagnosis of portal hypertension was also requested.

Finally, various interesting clinical cases, which are both complex and difficult to interpret, complement this issue.

We hope you continue to enjoy our Journal and that it generates new questions, learning and usefulness as a basis for new research and its application in daily practice and instruction to students, residents, and fellows.
