After its 15th anniversary, the primary concern of Acta Colombiana de Psicología has been to publish articles of high scientific quality, in accordance with international standards in terms of editorial features, thus achieving greater visibility and increasing national and international positioning. Challenges previously set in this space have been accepted such as: a) inviting the world’s scientific community to consult and quote the authors that have been publishing in Acta Colombiana de Psicología, b) extending the coverage of authors, c) establishing agreements for collaborative activities with editors of national and international journals and d) strengthening the arbitration process with the invitation of renowned experts and researchers both domestic and foreign, particularly those with doctoral training.

For this year, at the national level Acta Colombiana de Psicología has managed to renew its indexing in the category A1 of the National Bibliographic Index - Publindex, while internationally it remains in SCOPUS, PsycINFO, SciELO, among other leading indexes and databases. It has contributed to the publication of numerous papers of national and international authors, and institutionally has been a visibility indicator of the Universidad Católica de Colombia and its School of Psychology, and is presented to the scientific community as a fortress to contribute to the process of reaccreditation and certification of the Psychology program. Moreover, its editor has participated and led different groups and networks of publishers in the country and abroad, and is an active member of these.

Among the new challenges for 2013, in addition to maintaining the achievements and its high scientific quality, it is expected that with institutional support, Acta Colombiana de Psicología can migrate to the Open Journal System - OJS, update its website and continue its internationalization process through participation in events. Also, in the medium term, the periodicity of the journal can increase given the high flow of papers and several offers for publishing theme-based special issues.

Finally, and as is customary in this space, it is highlighted that in this issue national articles have been accepted from the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional- Bogotá, Universidad del Valle and Universidad de Manizales. Similarly, international papers from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, in Argentina; Universidad de Magallanes and Universidad de Concepción, in Chile; Universidad Nacional Autónoma, in México; Universidad de Costa Rica; Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED), in Spain; Universidade de Brasília, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, and Universidade de Santa Cruz do Sul, in Brazil.
