Knowledge generation, has had the highest growth rate of human history in the last decade, as shown by numerous scientometric studies (SJR, 2014). This process occurs not only in the hard sciences, but also, in a representative fashion, in the social and human sciences. The accelerated advance of science has been potentiated by minimizing barriers to access to information, that is, technology allows knowledge to disclosure and to be socially appropriated each time more efficiently and effectively. In practical terms, getting reliable and quality information today is much "easier". In the past it was required to enter specialty bookstores or libraries, which meant traveling times and costly investment; at present, with only internet access you can see endless academic and scientific texts and writings.

The Journal Civilizar Ciencias Sociales y Humanas within the framework ofthe implementation of its policy of gold road, aims to disseminate knowledge widely and with fewer restrictions. Thus, we could show that the number of subscribers and visitors to our web page content has been increasing at a very rapid pace. At the time of publication of this edition, we count approximately ten thousand regular visitors from around the world.

Moreover, it is gratifying to state that the number of articles submitted for publication in the journal has increased considerably. In 2008 more than 150 papers were presented for consideration; by 2013 the figure was about more than 300 documents; in other words, an increase of over 100% in the number of articles wasrecorded, with the participation of authors from different latitudes. This is important to the extent that this growth can be seen as an indication that the journal has an impact and interest in the academic community.
