EDITORIAL

SCOPUS nos incluye en su sistema luego de la evaluación por pares internacionales (investigadores, académicos, editores, bibliotecólogos), y sólo después de una exhaustiva valoración de calidad editorial, contribución a la disciplina, visibilidad internacional y el reconocimiento que la comunidad internacional hace de la publicación. Un segundo logro de nuestra revista fue la inclusión de los artículos de carácter filosófico en Philosopher´s Index, la base de datos internacional más importante en el área de filosofía, producida por el Philosopher´s Information Center. En este sentido, nuestra revista indexará en esta base de datos los artículos de carácter filosófico que publique, abriendo de esta manera la puerta a otros contextos disciplinarios.

Y, por último, y no menos importante, debemos mencionar que Universitas Psychologica ascendió a la máxima categoría (A1) del sistema colombiano de indexación –PUBLINDEX– de Colciencias, categoría en la que sólo se encuentran tres publicaciones en el país y en la cual permanecerá hasta el año 2008.

Estos importantes logros son motivo de satisfacción y compromiso con el mejoramiento permanente de la publicación, compromiso con el cual esperamos mantenernos en la vanguardia de los procesos de visibilidad del conocimiento científico en general, y de la disciplina en particular, en nuestro país, en nuestra región y en nuestro idioma, procesos que son trascendentales para la Facultad, la Universidad y el país.

EDITORIAL

Universitas Psychologica was recently included in the database SCOPUS, information system which contains citations, abstracts, full content articles, has the biggest collection of scientific peer-review journals –near 16.000 in all areas of knowledge- and permits access to the full content of almost 13.000. Of these journals, 2.800 are serial publications in social sciences, and Universitas Psychologica will be among them soon. Also, through this system is possible the consultation of 29 million abstracts, 265 million references, 250 million scientific WEB pages and 18 million patents (since 1966). SCOPUS, in conjunction with the ISI system, is the most important scientific information resource today, and only two Colombian journals are indexed there; that is reason we can state that this is the most important international recognition the journal have received after its inclusion in PsycInfo of the American Psychological Association (A.P.A).

SCOPUS indexed Universitas Psychologica after an international peer-review evaluation process (from investigators, academics, editors and librarians), and only after an exhaustive assessment of the editorial quality, contribution to the discipline, international visibility and the international community recognition.

A second recent achievement of Universitas Psychologica was the inclusion of its philosophical articles in the most important philosophical international database (Philosopher’s Index, produced by the Philosopher’s Information Center). Since this year our journal will include in this database all the published philosophical articles, opening this way its scope to other disciplinary contexts.

Finally, we must mention that Universitas Psychologica ascended to the highest category of the Colombian system of indexing –PUBLINDEX, COLCIENCIAS, category which include only three Colombian journals, and Universitas will be there until 2008.

These important achievements are motive of satisfaction and compromise with the permanent improvement of the publication; we hope this compromise will maintain Universitas Psychologica in the vanguard of knowledge visibility processes (general, disciplinary, of the country, of the Spanish language and of the region), processes which are of great significance for our Faculty, University and Country.
