We have the pleasure to present to you the 24th issue of our Universidad de Medellín Engineering Journal.

We have reached our 13^th volume with the excellent news of having been included in the new Scielo Citation Index, which is integrated with the Web of Science. This achievement is part of the growing efforts to make our regional production more visible, thus establishing a more effective dialog with the science all across the world.

We, all the people involved in the journal, believe that this dialog is both valid and necessary, but at the same time, we must increase our efforts in order to keep promoting our local and regional production. In this regard, the goal of Revista Ingenierías Universidad de Medellín'' is to venture into academic environments that have a more open attitude towards the strictly Latin American scientific environment and, at the same time, to keep working on our endeavor of presenting our production in Spanish to the entire world.

Moreover, the challenge for our Journal will be to increase its content written in English, thus receiving papers from scholars all around the world, enabling them to share a suitable academic environment with national and regional scholars.

Finally, we would like to thank you for your support in our effort.
