EDITORIAL

Internationalization has become a crucial part of the Universities' agenda. Student and Professor Mobility, Teaching cooperation, Research and several types of services are now linked to institutional visibility strategies (professors and research groups), which involves that communities recognize an intellectual capital that enables the transfer of knowledge and practices, as well as registrations and resources derived from these relationships. In this context, the role played by scientific journals is crucial, especially in the Latinameri-can and Iberoamerican contexts, since researchers, professors and students get to know each other and to recognize their work through these journals.

Is is clear that the visibility and the accessibility enabled by the Internet and the Open Access movement are playing a fundamental role in these new dynamics of institutional visibility, and scientific journals are a vital part of them. In the last few years, scientific publications have also changed from endogamic, local and institutionally-centered journals, into national and international journals that make more regional and global knowledge more visible. This has involved that our researchers and managers learn more international scientific communication practices, and they now understand the value of international visibility of scientific knowledge, networks and international collaboration.

Thus, journals contribute to the visibility of academic production, knowledge management and transfer processes, and institutional creation of relational and intellectual capital. Diversitas has experienced an important growth and it has fulfilled the múltiple roles of these learning processes by giving visibility to a part of the academic production of research groups. At the same time, is it moving towards giving visibility to national, regional and international production.

The challenges we face are related to the creation of communication spaces in other journals for our researchers' production, and to getting the knowledge of public journals to be used by students, professors and researches. These usages should be visible in terms of citations made of our journal. New achievements, new challenges, new responsibilities for our journal and our professors and researchers communities.
