Nevertheless, microgrids must be analyzed using specialized tools that allow to conduct operation, technical and economic studies. In that regard, this paper presents a case study in which the software HOMER Energy Pro was implemented to design and analyze the performance of a microgrid. Such microgrid comprises a photovoltaic system, a wind system and a diesel plant. The parameters of the energy systems are based on information about local weather conditions available in databases. Finally, this analysis is performed under two conditions: stand-alone and grid-tied.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Hay un creciente interés en la integración de fuentes de energía renovable para formar microredes debido a los retos actuales en materia de energía alrededor del mundo. Tales microredes deben ser analizadas a través de herramientas especializadas que permitan llevar a cabo estudios de operación, técnicos y económicos. De esta forma, este artículo presenta un caso de estudio de un microred en el cual el software HOMER Energy Pro es utilizado para el diseño y el análisis de desempeño. La microred considera un sistema fotovoltaico, un sistema eólico y una planta diésel. Los parámetros de los sistemas de energía están basados en condiciones de clima locales, disponible en bases de datos. El análisis es llevado a cabo bajo dos condiciones: aislado y conectado a la red.]]></p></abstract>
