The model is tested in a case study located in Cali and its results reveal noteworthy cost savings opportunities by means of different strategies.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Se presenta un modelo para la optimización de la asignación de buses a los depósitos o patios taller (PT), minimizando el consumo diario total de combustible del sistema durante los recorridos en vacío (no comerciales), considerando los diferentes tipos de buses, las capacidades de los PT, la demanda y respetando la participación de cada PT en la operación. El modelo se prueba en un caso de estudio localizado en Cali, Colombia y sus resultados revelan destacables oportunidades de ahorro de costos por medio de diferentes estrategias.]]></p></abstract>
