Due to the telomerasa absence, each time that the cell is divided, it lost telomeric sequences. Subsequently, the telomeric DNA is critically reduced and it directs the cell to stop its division, entering to a senescence state. This article presents a solution for the modeling in discrete time, of the evolution of a population that age due to telomeric reduction, where the cells have more than one chromosome, obtaining in particular the result that a population of multichromosomic cells tends to decline, without necessity of including other parameters of cellular death as waste or metilation.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Los telómeros juegan un papel importante en la vejez del organismo. Debido a la ausencia de telomerasa, cada vez que la célula se divide, se pierden secuencias teloméricas. Eventualmente, el ADN telomérico se ve críticamente reducido y ordena a la célula detener su división, entrando a un estado de senescencia. En el presente artículo se presenta una solución para el modelamiento en tiempo discreto, de la evolución de una población que envejece por acortamiento telomérico, donde las células tienen múltiples cromosomas, obteniendo en partícular el resultado que una población de células multicromósomicas tiende al declive, sin necesidad de incluir otros parámetros de muerte celular como desgaste o metilación.]]></p></abstract>
