<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0120-02832025000100129&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0120-02832025000100129&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0120-02832025000100129&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen El objetivo de este trabajo fue comparar los contenidos de gas asociado al carbón, obtenidos a partir de diferentes tipos de muestreo: de canal por ply; núcleos de perforación lateral y vertical en la Mina San Fernando en el Municipio de Amagá - Antioquia, Colombia. Estas muestras se sometieron a los análisis de desorción de gas, cromatografía de gases, porosidad, permeabilidad y adsorción a alta presión. Los carbones estudiados se clasifican como sub-bituminosos A y bituminosos altos en volátiles C, de acuerdo a la norma ASTM D388-19a clasificación de carbones por rango. Los contenidos promedios de gas total desorbido en las muestras variaron entre 0,2 y 33,7 ft3/ton; los cuales son valores bajos con respecto a las demás zonas carboníferas de Colombia y del mundo. La composición del gas fue principalmente metano (C1) con una variación de 92,2% a 98,98%, dióxido de carbono (CO2) el cual varío entre 0,30% y 4,27%, y cantidades menores a 1,0% de otros hidrocarburos. A una presión de 1500 psi, las isotermas de adsorción de CH4 para los diferentes tipos de muestreos variaron entre 45 y 340 ft3/ton. De acuerdo con los resultados, se puede establecer que existe una variabilidad lateral a profundidad de los contenidos de gas metano y con una tendencia a disminuir en los Mantos 2 y 3. Esto se observó en todos los mantos que se han estudiado. También se encontró variabilidad vertical en la perforación vertical, en las 5 muestras tomadas de canal por ply de los frentes de explotación, y en las perforaciones laterales. Al comparar los resultados con los de estudios anteriores, los contenidos de gas en general son bajos (menores a 60 ft3/ ton). De otro lado, se puede determinar de una manera sencilla y a bajo costo en muestras que se tomen en los frentes de explotación.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The objective of this work was to compare the coal bed methane obtained from different types of sampling: channel by ply, lateral, and vertical drilling cores at the San Fernando Mine in the Municipality of Amagá - Antioquia, Colombia. These samples were subjected to gas desorption, gas chromatography, porosity, permeability and high-pressure adsorption analyses. The studied coals are classified as subbituminous A coal and high-volatile C bituminous coal, according to the ASTM D388-19a standard classification of coal by rank. The average of total gas desorbed in the samples varied between 0.2 and 33.7 ft3/ton, which are low values compared to the other coal mining areas of Colombia and the world. Gas composition was primarily methane (C1) ranging from 92.2% to 98.98%, carbon dioxide (CO2) ranging from 0.30% and 4.27%, and amounts typically less than 1.0% other hydrocarbons. At a pressure of 1500 psi, the CH4 adsorption isotherms for the different types of samples varied between 45 and 340 ft3/ton. According to the results, it can be established that there is a lateral variability in depth of the methane gas contents and with a tendency to decrease in coal seam 2 and 3. Vertical variability was also found in the vertical drilling and in the samples taken from the channel per ply of the exploitation front faces. When comparing the results with those of previous studies, the gas contents were generally low (less than 60 ft3/ton). On the other hand, it can be determined in a simple way and at a low-cost manner in samples taken from the exploitation fronts faces.]]></p></abstract>
