La distribución, dinámica poblacional y diversidad de las especies de escarabajos se ven afectadas por factores del medio ambiente, así como por la fragmentación del ecosistema. Con base en la captura de ocho especies de escarabajos de estas subfamilias colectadas con trampas multiembudo cebadas con etanol en huertas de aguacate de Aramberri, Nuevo León, México, se proyectó su distribución geográfica potencial en México mediante el programa Maxent v.3.4.4. La identificación de los ejemplares capturados se realizó por medio de claves taxonómicas; se elaboró una base de datos con registros de su presencia en diferentes regiones de México para realizar el modelado de la distribución potencial considerando las variables bioclimáticas de mayor influencia. Los mapas de distribución potencial fueron generados para predecir el establecimiento de estas especies en regiones con condiciones climatológicas óptimas; esta información puede utilizarse para ampliar las zonas de muestreo, así como implementar medidas de prevención contra la introducción de especies exóticas. Araptus schwarzi, Monarthrum gracilior, Xyleborinus gracilis y Xyleborus horridus son nuevos registros de especies de la subfamilia Scolytinae para Nuevo León. Corthylus flagellifer, Euplatypus parallelus, Xyleborus ferrugineus y Xyleborus volvulus son especies de escarabajos ambrosiales a las que se debe poner atención en México ya que pueden ser fuente potencial de diseminación de hongos simbiontes fitopatógenos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The subfamilies Scolytinae and Platypodinae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) include bark and ambrosial beetles considered threats in natural ecosystems and agricultural and forest crops due to their damage's ecological and economic impact. The distribution, population dynamics and diversity of the beetle species are affected by environmental factors, and ecosystem fragmentation. Based on the capture of eight beetle species from these subfamilies collected with multi-funnel tramps baited with ethanol in avocado orchards of Aramberri, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, was projected its potential geographic distribution in Mexico using the Maxent v.3.4.4 software. The identification of the captured beetles was done with taxonomic keys; a database was created with records of its presence in regions of Mexico, to model its distribution considering the climatic variables of greatest influence. The potential distribution maps generated, allow the prediction of these species in regions with optimal climatological conditions for their establishment; this information can be used to expand sampling areas, and implement preventive strategies against introducing exotic species. Araptus schwarzi, Monarthrum gracilior, Xyleborinus gracilis and Xyleborus horridus are new records of Scolytinae subfamily species to Nuevo Leon. Corthylus flagellifer, Euplatypus parallelus, Xyleborus ferrugineus, and Xyleborus volvulus are ambrosia beetle species that should be closely monitored in Mexico since they can be potential sources of dissemination of their symbiont phytopathogenic fungi.]]></p></abstract>
