La tesis que defiendo es que la fenomenología no es una etapa en su pensamiento que quede superada por posteriores encuentros filosóficos. No me parece del todo acertada la imagen con la que hemos trazado su itinerario filosófico, que él mismo asumió, diciendo que parte "de" la fenomenología y se encamina "a" la hermenéutica. Frente a esta imagen, defiendo con fuerza la imagen del "entre" como posición filosófica; "entre" fenomenología y hermenéutica. Ricoeur es fenomenólogo y hermeneuta. Su compromiso fenomenológico lo lleva a la hermenéutica y su forma de practicar la hermenéutica solo puede ser entendida desde la fenomenología. Ricoeur es un fenomenólogo por vocación y un hermeneuta por destino. Para interpretar adecuadamente la relación de Ricoeur con la fenomenología se atiende a la gran variedad de textos que escribió sobre fenomenología y hermenéutica, sopesando su talante fenomenológico y hermenéutico no solo en sus textos más emblemáticos, sino en sus pequeñas introducciones, reflexiones, etc., sobre fenomenología. Considero que la recopilación de textos de En la escuela de la fenomenología es fundamental al respecto. Así se concluye que la filosofía de Ricoeur tiene una triple contextura: reflexiva, descriptiva e interpretativa. La filosofía reflexiva, la fenomenología y la hermenéutica son tres formas de hacer filosofía. En el filósofo francés se aúnan, se complementan y se potencian. Podemos decir que para él la propia fenomenología es reflexiva, descriptiva e interpretativa. Estar "con Ricoeur" en la escuela de la fenomenología es estar en el camino mismo de la filosofía, de la que cada uno tenemos que hacer a la altura de nuestra época y de cara a nuestras circunstancias.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The article aims to show in what sense Paul Ricoeur's philosophy might be considered, from beginning to end, a phenomenology. Therefore, I argue that phenomenology is not only a stage in his thought that is overcome by his following philosophical encounters. I do not find satisfactory the picture that has been presented of his philosophical itinerary, which he himself agreed with, by saying that he starts "from" phenomenology and goes "to" hermeneutics. Regarding such picture, I strongly support the idea of "between" as a philosophical position: "between" phenomenology and hermeneutics. Ricoeur is both a phenomenologist and a hermeneutist. His phenomenological commitment leads him to hermeneutics and his way of practicing hermeneutics can only be understood from the standpoint of phenomenology. Ricoeur is a phenomenologist by choice and a hermeneutist by fate. For a correctly understanding of Ricoeur's relation to phenomenology, the great variety of his writings on phenomenology and hermeneutics is considered, bearing in mind his phenomenological and hermeneutical attitude not only in his major works, but also in his short introductions and dissertations concerning phenomenology. I argue that the collection of writings A l&#8217;école de la phenomenologie turns out to be crucial for this issue. It is concluded that Ricoeur's philosophy has a triple composition: reflexive, descriptive and interpretative. Reflexive philosophy, phenomenology and hermeneutics are three ways of doing philosophy. In the thought or Ricoeur they are joined, complemented and strengthened. It is possible to argue that for him phenomenology is reflexive, descriptive and interpretative. Being with Ricoeur in the school of phenomenology means being in the own path of philosophy, of which each one of us should practice up to the expectations of the time and according to our own circumstances.]]></p></abstract>

Não me parece por completo adequada a imagem com que temos traçado seu itinerário filosófico, que ele mesmo assumiu, dizendo que parte "da" fenomenologia e encaminha-se "para" a hermenêutica. Diante dessa imagem, defendo com força a imagem do "entre" como posição filosófica; "entre" fenomenologia e hermenêutica. Ricoeur é fenomenólogo e hermeneuta. Seu compromisso fenomenológico leva-o para a hermenêutica e sua forma de praticar a hermenêutica só pode ser entendida desde a fenomenologia. Ricoeur é umfenomenólogo por vocação e um hermeneuta por destino. Para interpretar adequadamente a relação de Ricoeur com a fenomenologia atende-se à grande variedade de textos que escreveu sobre fenomenologia e hermenêutica, considerando seu caráter fenomenológico e hermenêutico não só em seus textos mais emblemáticos, mas em suas pequenas introduções, reflexões, etc., sobre a fenomenologia. Considero fundamental, a propósito, a compilação de textos Na escola da fenomenologia. Assim, conclui-se que a filosofia de Ricoeur tem uma contextura tríplice: reflexiva, descritiva e interpretativa. A filosofia reflexiva, a fenomenologia e a hermenêutica são três formas de fazer filosofia. No filósofo francês tais formas se unem, complementam e potenciam. Podemos dizer que pare ele a própria fenomenologia é reflexiva, descritiva e interpretativa.
