Los problemas y retos que nos plantea la globalización, las migraciones o las colonizaciones de siglos pasados no son muy diferentes a los que debieron enfrentar aquellos primeros cristianos. Las respuestas que Jesús de Nazaret ofreció a los desafíos de la interculturalidad de su tiempo hunden sus raíces en la experiencia e imagen que tuvo de Yahvé, su Abba, que le llevaron a replantear los conceptos de pureza, santidad y pertenencia a Israel y a alterar los mecanismos tradicionales de relación con Dios. Jesús ofreció espacios interculturales de encuentro a aquellos que el poder religioso excluía.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Intercultural contemporary societies pose challenges to modern citizens, as ancient Greco-Roman Empire posed to Jesus and his first followers many centuries ago. Globalization, migrations and colonialism, among others issues, bring about nowadays problems and possibilities similar to those faced by the first Christians. Jesus of Nazareth offered answers based in his religious experience, which produced a new representation of the God of Israel. His understanding of Yahve boosted him to reformulate basic principles of his own religion, such as purity, holiness or ethnicity. In addition, he created new intercultural spaces in which those excluded by the religious authorities could encounter God face to face.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo A interculturalidade é um desafio para as nossas sociedades modernas, como o foi para aquelas em que viveram Jesus e seus primeiros discípulos. Os problemas e desafios que nos impõe a globalização, as migrações ou as colonizações de séculos passados, não são muito diferentes dos que tiveram que encarar os primeiros cristãos. As respostas que Jesus de Nazaré deu aos desafios da interculturalidade de seu tempo afundam suas raízes na experiência e na imagem que teve de Javé, seu Abba, que o levaram a reformular os conceitos de pureza, santidade e pertença a Israel e a alterar os mecanismos tradicionais de relacionamento com Deus. Jesus ofereceu espaços interculturais de encontro para aqueles excluídos pelo poder religioso.]]></p></abstract>
