When comparing the distribution of the results at the beginning of the decade (2010-2011) with the end (2019-2020), significant changes were found in the distribution of the results. There is evidence of an increase in pre-intermediate to pre-advanced performance levels and a decrease in the basic level. In addition, differences were identified between official and non-official Higher Education Institutions. A clear relationship between accreditation and the distribution of results in English is also identified. This article contributes to the literature by being the first to study the evolution of the distribution of the results of performance levels in English using the RDM non-parametric technique. In addition, it is the first to present an analysis of the evolution of competence development during the 2010s.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: Este artículo analiza la evolución de la competencia en inglés de los estudiantes de los pro- gramas de economía en Colombia en la década del 2010 empleando los resultados de las pruebas Saber Pro y el Método de Distribuciones Relativas (MDR). Al comparar la distribución de los resultados al inicio de la década (2010-2011) con el final (2019-2020) se encontraron cambios significativos en la distribución de los resultados. Se evidencia un aumento en los niveles de desempeño pre intermedio a pre avanzado y una disminución en el nivel básico. Además, se identificaron diferencias entre las instituciones de educación superior oficiales y no oficiales. También se identifica una relación clara entre la acreditación y la distribución de resultados en inglés. Este artículo contribuye a la literatura al ser el primero en estudiar por medio de la técnica no paramétrica del MDR la evolución de la distribución de los resultados de los niveles de desempeño en inglés. Además, es el primero en presentar un análisis de la evolución del desarrollo de la competencia durante la década de 2010.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[Résumé: Cet article analyse l&#8217;évolution des compétences en anglais des étudiants des programmes d&#8217;économie en Colombie dans les années 2010 en utilisant les résultats des tests Saber Pro et la méthode des distributions relatives (MDR). En comparant la distribution des résultats au début de la décennie (2010-2011) et à la fin (2019-2020), des changements significatifs dans la distribution des résultats ont été constatés. Une augmentation des niveaux de performance pré-intermédiaire à préavancé et une diminution du niveau de base sont évidentes. En outre, des différences ont été identifiées entre les établissements d&#8217;enseignement supérieur formels et non formels. Une relation claire entre l&#8217;accréditation et la distribution des résultats en anglais est également identifiée. Cet article contribue à la littérature en étant le premier à utiliser la technique MDR non paramétrique pour étudier l&#8217;évolution de la distribution des niveaux de performance en anglais. Il est également le premier à présenter une analyse de l&#8217;évolution du développement des compétences au cours des années 2010.]]></p></abstract>
