Se trata de un estudio de caso múltiple con unidad de análisis incrustada y de tipo cerrado cuyos principales datos los constituyen los proyectos educativos institucionales, planes de área y planes de aula de las instituciones participantes. Se encontró que la mayoría de las instituciones no han realizado una actualización constante de sus curricula, que la lengua extranjera tiene poca o ninguna visibilidad en los documentos institucionales, que ha habido una incorporación superficial de los lineamientos curriculares emanados del Ministerio de Educación Nacional y que existe poca articulación en la estructura curricular entre los niveles educativos. A partir de los resultados se presentan recomendaciones pertinentes para mejorar la estructuración curricular del área de inglés.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The current study reports the description and analysis of the English curriculum from 28 public schools in the city Cali, Colombia. It is a multiple case study with an embedded and closed-type unit of analysis whose main data are the curricula and syllabi from the selected schools. It was found that most schools have not updated their curricula, that the foreign language has little or no visibility in the institutional documents, that there has been a superficial incorporation of the curricular guidelines from the National Ministry of Education, and that there is little articulation in the curricular structure between the educational levels. Based on the results, pertinent recommendations are proposed to improve the curricular structuring of the English area.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[Résumé Cette étude porte sur la description et l&#8217;analyse du programme d&#8217;enseignement d´anglais de 28 établissements d´éducation publiques de la ville Cali (écoles, colleges, lycées). Il s&#8217;agit d&#8217;une étude de cas multiple avec une unité d&#8217;analyse intégrée et fermée dont les données principales sont les plans d&#8217;étude des établissements participants. À partir de cette analyse, l´on a constaté que la plupart des établissement scolaires n'ont pas mis à jour leurs programmes d´enseignement, que la langue étrangère n´a pas de visibilité dans les documents institutionnels et qu´il y a eu une intégration superficielle des directrices issues du Ministère de l'Éducation Nationale. De même, l´on a conclu qu´il existe très peu d'articulation entre les niveaux d'enseignements, dans la structure du programme. Sur la base de ces résultats, des recommandations sont présentées afin d´améliorer la structuration des programmes d'étude de langue anglaise.]]></p></abstract>
