Aunque es uno de los tópicos más estudiados, solo una pequeña proporción de ellas sobrevive a cada transferencia generacional. En las economías en desarrollo como las latinoamericanas, la generación de conocimiento sobre el tema es significativa dada la importante proporción de empresas familiares en cada país, y en consecuencia su contribución económica y social. El presente trabajo es una revisión bibliográfica sobre el proceso de sucesión de la empresa familiar. Tiene por objetivo la reconstrucción de su campo de estudio para propiciar el desarrollo de nuevos trabajos. <abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Succession in family business is considered as a decisive stage for its continuity. It is one of the most studied topics, but only a small proportion of them survive each generational transfer. In developing economies such as Latin America, the generation of knowledge on the subject is significant given the proportion of family business in each country and consequently their economic and social contribution. This bibliographic review of the succession process in family business aims to reconstruct its field of study to encourage the development of new research.
