También se describen algunas experiencias educativas que promueven la educación para la ciudadanía mundial en este país y que permiten identificar claves para impulsarla en Colombia y en otros países con contextos similares. Con base en estas experiencias, se argumenta que en sociedades fracturadas por toda clase de violencias, como la colombiana, la educación para la ciudadanía mundial puede aportar a la construcción de paz por lo menos de tres maneras: 1) visibilizando las voces y visiones de mundo históricamente soterradas; 2) propiciando la superación de la oposición entre lo local y lo global, que no permite abordar las complejidades de los conflictos sociales, y 3) promoviendo la construcción de subjetividades críticas que se comprometan con la transformación social.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In the present research article, we conduct a historical review that allows us to understand the emergence and trajectory of Global Citizenship Education in Colombia. Also, we describe some educational experiences that promote Global Citizenship Education in this country, which shed light on the identification of clues to promote this type of education in this and other countries with similar contextual characteristics. Based on these experiences, we argue that, in societies fractured by all types of violence, such as the Colombian society, Global Citizenship Education may contribute to peace building, at least in three ways: 1) making visible the historically hidden voices and worldviews; 2) fostering the possibility to overcome the opposition between the local and the global, which does not allow to address the complexities of social conflict; and 3) promoting the construction of critical subjectivities committed with social transformation.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo Neste artigo de investigação é feito um percurso histórico que permite compreender o surgimento e a trajetória da Educação para a Cidadania Mundial na Colômbia. São também descritas algumas experiências educacionais que promovem a Educação para a Cidadania Mundial neste país, e que nos permitem identificar chaves para a promover neste e noutros países com contextos semelhantes. Com base nessas experiências, argumenta-se que em sociedades fragmentadas por todos os tipos de violência, como a sociedade colombiana, a Educação para a Cidadania Mundial pode contribuir para a construção da paz de pelo menos três maneiras: 1) tornando as vozes e visões de mundo historicamente enterrados visíveis; 2) promovendo a superação da oposição entre o local e o global que não permite enfrentar as complexidades dos conflitos sociais; 3) promovendo a construção de subjetividades críticas e comprometidas com a transformação social.]]></p></abstract>
