Se realiza un análisis exploratorio mixto a partir de la participación en un cuestionario y un grupo de discusión con pacientes pediátricos usuarios de la PH (n = 248) y sus cuidadores principales (n = 280). El cuidado de la salud psicoemocional y la actitud docente aparecen como uno de los mayores retos para la calidad del servicio. La educación en la atención pediátrica hospitalaria es un elemento importante para mejorar la calidad de vida de los pacientes y sus familias. También se valoran las facilidades que ofrecen las tecnologías digitales respecto a la socialización como una oportunidad de gran relevancia. La modalidad a distancia derivada de la pandemia de la COVID-19 no difiere significativamente de la atención en el aula, pero se requiere la formación de las familias para manejar las herramientas tecnológicas adecuadamente. La inclusión y normalización de la situación de enfermedad de los niños y jóvenes en la educación son oportunidades que genera la PH en el proceso educativo, y se relaciona con el compromiso de garantizar una educación de calidad para todos los niños, independientemente de sus circunstancias. Estos hallazgos suponen una base sobre la cual construir nuevas estrategias educativas basadas en las necesidades y oportunidades detectadas dirigidas a alcanzar el Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) 4 de la Agenda 2030.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The perceptions and experiences of pediatric patients and their families regarding the educational process in Hospital Pedagogy (HP) allow for an analysis of the challenges and opportunities presented by this service, both in face-to-face and distance modalities. A mixed exploratory analysis was conducted based on participation in a questionnaire and a focus group with pediatric HP users (n = 248) and their primary caregivers (n = 280). The care of psycho-emotional health and teacher attitude emerged as one of the main challenges for service quality. Education in hospital pediatric care is an important element for improving the quality of life of patients and their families. The benefits of digital technologies in facilitating socialization were also highly valued as a significant opportunity. The distance learning model implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic did not significantly differ from in-class care, but family training is needed to properly manage technological tools. The inclusion and normalization of children and young people's illness in education are opportunities provided by HP within the educational process and relate to the commitment to guarantee quality education for all children, regardless of their circumstances. These findings provide a foundation upon which new educational strategies can be built, based on the identified needs and opportunities, aimed at achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 of the 2030 Agenda.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo As percepções e vivências dos pacientes pediátricos e de suas famílias em relação ao processo educativo na Pedagogia Hospitalar (PH) possibilitam a análise dos desafios e oportunidades apresentados por esse serviço, tanto na modalidade presencial quanto a distância. Foi realizada uma análise exploratória mista, com base na participação em um questionário e em um grupo de discussão com pacientes pediátricos usuários da PH (n = 248) e seus cuidadores principais (n = 280). O cuidado com a saúde psicoemocional e a atitude dos professores surgem como um dos maiores desafios para a qualidade do serviço. A educação no atendimento pediátrico hospitalar é um elemento importante para melhorar a qualidade de vida dos pacientes e suas famílias. As facilidades oferecidas pelas Tecnologias Digitais em relação à socialização também foram valorizadas como uma oportunidade de grande relevância. O modelo de ensino a distância, implementado em razão da pandemia de COVID-19, não difere significativamente da atenção em sala de aula, mas é necessário que as famílias sejam capacitadas para lidar adequadamente com as ferramentas tecnológicas. A inclusão e a normalização da doença de crianças e jovens no processo educativo são oportunidades geradas pela PH, relacionadas ao compromisso de garantir uma educação de qualidade para todas as crianças, independentemente de suas circunstâncias. Esses achados constituem uma base para a construção de novas estratégias educacionais, baseadas nas necessidades e oportunidades detectadas, voltadas para o cumprimento do Objetivo de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) 4 da Agenda 2030.]]></p></abstract>
