Objetivo: evaluar la mortalidad a 28 días en pacientes con IAMCEST en función de las puntuaciones de KK al ingreso.  Métodos: se trata de un estudio observacional, analítico, de una cohorte retrospectiva que incluyó a todos los pacientes adultos diagnosticados de IAMCEST atendidos en un Hospital Universitario entre enero de 2010 y diciembre de 2020. Se evaluó la clasificación del KK al ingreso en urgencias para estratificar a los pacientes en grupos de riesgo. Se realizaron curvas de Kaplan-Meier (KM) y modelos de riesgo proporcionales de Cox para determinar la asociación entre la clasificación del KK y la mortalidad.  Resultados: se incluyeron 413 pacientes, con una mediana de edad de 63 años (rango intercuartílico 55-74). En general, la mortalidad a 28 días fue del 7% (n = 29). El 79% (n = 327) tenía KK I, el 7.9% (n = 33) KK II, el 5.4% (n = 22) KK III y el 7.7% (n = 31) KK IV, con mortalidades a los 28 días del 2.8% (n = 9), 12.2% (n = 4), 18.2% (n = 4) y 38.8% (n = 12), respectivamente (prueba de rango logarítmico p &lt; 0.001). Los cocientes de riesgos instantáneos (CRI) ajustados para la mortalidad a 28 días, en comparación con el KK I, fueron de 4 (IC 95%: 1.19-13.6; p = 0.026) para el KK II, 4.7 (IC 95%: 1.34-16.8; p = 0.016) para el KK III y 9.9 (IC 95%: 3.50-27.8; p &lt; 0.001) para el KK IV.  Conclusiones: la clasificación KK al ingreso permite pronosticar la mortalidad a 28 días en pacientes con IAMCEST.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Introduction: Killip-Kimball (KK) scale enables rapid clinical stratification upon admission of patients with ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction (STEMI).  Objective: to evaluate 28-day mortality based on KK admission scores in patients with STEMI.  Methods: this was an observational, analytical study of a retrospective cohort that included all adult patients diagnosed with STEMI treated in a Hospital Universitario between January 2010 and December 2020. It was evaluated the classification of KK at emergency department admission for stratifying patients into risk groups. Kaplan-Meier (KM) curves and Cox proportional hazard models were performed to determine the association between KK classification and mortality.  Results: 413 patients were included, a median age of 63 years (interquartile range 55-74).
