Los períodos críticos del neurodesarrollo finalizan en la consolidación estructural de un circuito neuronal y su conectividad. Esos períodos están regulados por interneuronas inhibitorias que expresan la proteína parvalbúmina. La ausencia de parvalbúmina en el Autismo conlleva a un desequilibrio de la relación excitación inhibición. La hiperexcitabilidad impiden la adecuada sincronización y conectividad con otras regiones cerebrales. La estimulación magnética cerebral en el Autismo y los TEA intentan modificar las anormalidades neurofisiológicas de los circuitos comprometidos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[SUMMARY Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders are neurodevelopmental disorders. The critical periods of neurodevelopment end in the structural consolidation of a neuronal circuit and its connectivity. These periods are regulated by inhibitory interneurons that express the parvalbumin protein. The absence of parvalbumin in Autism leads to an imbalance of the excitation inhibition ratio. Hyperexcitability prevents adequate synchronization and connectivity with other brain regions. Transcraneal Magnetic Stimulation in Autism and ASD attempts to modify the neurophysiological abnormalities of the compromised circuits.]]></p></abstract>
