In response, the Software Development Center (CEDESOFT) implemented a web-based system based on the Goal-Question-Metric (GQM) method to manage key project metrics. From 2022 to 2024, the system tracked 22 projects, recording estimation accuracy compared to the previous average of 4.54%. Cost deviation was reduced from 12% to 3.5%, and post-delivery defects decreased by 92%. These results suggest that the system contributed to more precise planning, enhanced quality control, and adoption of a metrics-driven organizational culture. Limitations included scarce pre-implementation data and the need for iterative metric refinement.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El desarrollo acelerado del software ha incrementado la necesidad de asegurar productos de alta calidad mediante procesos sistemáticos de mejora continua. En respuesta a esta necesidad, el Centro de Desarrollo de Software (CEDESOFT) implementó un sistema web basado en el método Goal-Question-Metric (GQM) para gestionar métricas clave de proyectos. Entre 2022 y 2024, se gestionaron 22 proyectos, registrando 11,116 horas planeadas y 11,384 reales, lo que representa una desviación del 2.41%, mejorando la estimación respecto al promedio previo (4.54%). En cuanto al costo, la desviación se redujo del 12% al 3.5%, y los defectos posteriores a la entrega disminuyeron en un 92%. Estos resultados sugieren que el uso del sistema apoyó una planificación más precisa, fortaleció el control de calidad y promovió una cultura organizacional basada en métricas. El estudio enfrentó limitaciones como la escasa disponibilidad de datos previos y la necesidad de ajustar las métricas en iteraciones sucesivas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[RESUMO O desenvolvimento acelerado de software aumentou a necessidade de garantir produtos de alta qualidade por meio de processos sistemáticos de melhoria contínua. Em resposta a essa necessidade, o Centro de Desenvolvimento de Software (CEDESOFT) implementou um sistema web baseado no método Goal-Question-Metric (GQM) para gerenciar métricas-chave dos projetos. Entre 2022 e 2024, foram gerenciados 22 projetos, registrando-se 11.116 horas planejadas e 11.384 reais, o que representa um desvio de 2,41%, melhorando a estimativa em relação à média anterior (4,54%). Quanto ao custo, o desvio foi reduzido de 12% para 3,5%, e os defeitos após a entrega diminuíram em 92%. Esses resultados sugerem que o uso do sistema apoiou um planejamento mais preciso, fortaleceu o controle de qualidade e promoveu uma cultura organizacional baseada em métricas.
