Se estudiarán las relaciones y conexiones de algunos comerciantes y propietarios de supermercados colombianos con experiencias de comercio norteamericanas, así como las estrategias de aprendizaje y los procesos de apropiación diferencial que tuvieron que llevar a cabo para introducir estos espacios de comercio y consumo a varias ciudades del país. La metodología consistió en el análisis y revisión de fuentes primarias y secundarias desde el enfoque de las historias conectadas. Como conclusión, se señala que los comerciantes colombianos también tuvieron una activa participación a través de sus experiencias locales y contribuyeron a complementar el acumulado de conocimiento sobre los supermerdados que, desde mediados del siglo XX, se configuraban en diferentes lugares del mundo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The main purpose of this article is to conduct an analysis of a specific space of consumption: the supermarket. Relationships and connections of some Colombian traders and supermarket owners will be studied (those with experiences upon the North American trade and commerce), as well as the learning strategies and processes of differential appropriation that was mandatory for the introduction of these trading and consumption spaces in several cities of the country. The methodology used was based upon the analysis and revision of primary and secondary sources, from the approach of the connected histories. As a result, this article asserts that the Colombian merchants had an active participation through their own local experiences and that they contributed to complement the accumulation of knowledge about supermarkets; a knowledge that was already set in different places of the world, from the middle of the 20th Century.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo: este artigo se propõe a realizar uma análise de um espaço específico de consumo: o supermercado. Serão estudadas as relações e as conexões de alguns comerciantes e proprietários de supermercados colombianos com experiências de comércio norte-americanas, bem como as estratégias de aprendizagem e os processos de apropriação diferencial que tiveram que ser realizadas para introduzir esses espaços de comércio e consumo a várias cidades do país. A metodologia consistiu na análise e na revisão de fontes primárias e secundárias sob a abordagem das histórias conectadas. Como conclusão, constata-se que os comerciantes colombianos também tiveram uma ativa participação por meio de suas experiências locais e contribuíram para complementar o acumulado de conhecimento sobre os supermercados que, desde meados do século XX, se configuram em diferentes lugares do mundo.]]></p></abstract>
