Sin embargo, las confusiones, ambigüedades y el uso indiscriminado de dicho concepto han generado una trivialización de este. Por ello, en el presente artículo de reflexión se realiza una exposición acerca de cómo se ha venido entendiendo la formación integral y cómo debería asumirse según su etimología y las teorías de las ciencias de la educación. Posteriormente, se propone relacionar el concepto de &#8220;formación integral&#8221; con algunos modelos de pensamiento crítico, al igual que exponer su articulación curricular y funciones misionales de la formación universitaria.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In recent decades, the term &#8220;comprehensive education&#8221; has become common in school and institutional environments. However, the confusions, ambiguities, and indiscriminate use of this concept have led to its trivialization. Therefore, this reflective article presents an exposition on how comprehensive education has been understood and how it should be approached according to its etymology and educational science theories. Subsequently, it proposes to relate the concept of &#8220;comprehensive education&#8221; with some models of critical thinking, as well as to expose its curricular articulation and mission functions of university educations.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo Nas últimas décadas, tem sido comum ouvir o termo &#8220;formação integral&#8221; nos ambientes escolares e institucionais. No entanto, as confusões, ambiguidades e o uso indiscriminado desse conceito geraram uma trivialização do mesmo. Por isso, no presente artigo de reflexã, é feita uma exposição sobre como a formação integral tem sido entendida e como deveria ser assumida segundo sua etimologia e as teorias das ciências da educação. Posteriormente, propõe-se relacionar o conceito de &#8220;formação integral&#8221; com alguns modelos de pensamento crítico, bem como expor sua articulação curricular e funções missionais da formação universitária.]]></p></abstract>
