Bajo este contexto, el artículo documenta el desarrollo de la investigación en el dominio del conocimiento de la transición energética sostenible como un pilar de la agenda geopolítica global, y reflexiona sobre los desafíos que implica este fenómeno desde la perspectiva investigativa, geopolítica y geoeconómica. La metodología utilizada es la revisión de literatura combinada con un análisis bibliométrico y técnicas de análisis de contenido de documentos de investigación recuperados en la base de datos Web of Science y sectoriales. Los hallazgos más representativos indican lo siguiente: primero, que el Acuerdo de París ha impulsado la investigación relacionada con el desarrollo sostenible, la transición y la seguridad energética desde un ámbito técnico, cultural, social, político y económico; segundo, a nivel geopolítica, el proceso de transición energética juega un papel determinante en el ajedrez político mundial, en el que los países miden sus fuerzas en términos de continuidad del suministro energético para sus ciudadanos, y tercero, a nivel geoeconómico, los países exportadores de carbón y petróleo ajustan el gasto público a presupuestos funcionales en un marco de energías renovables. Los autores concluyen que una transición progresiva y el balance de la matriz energética son fundamentales para reducir los gases efecto invernadero que causan el calentamiento global y garantizar la sostenibilidad energética sin afectar drásticamente la economía de las naciones.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The concept of energy transition is present on the global political agenda as an indispensable process for the sustainable development of countries. In this context, the article documents the development of research in the domain of sustainable energy transition as a cornerstone of the global geopolitical agenda and reflects on the challenges posed by this phenomenon from the research, geopolitical, and geoeconomic perspectives. The methodology used involves literature review combined with bibliometric analysis and content analysis techniques of research documents retrieved from the Web of Science and sector-specific databases. The most significant findings indicate the following: first, the Paris Agreement has driven research related to sustainable development, transition, and energy security across technical, cultural, social, political, and economic domains; second, at the geopolitical level, the energy transition process plays a decisive role in the global political chessboard, where countries assess their strengths in terms of the continuity of energy supply for their citizens; and third, at the geoeconomic level, coal and oil-exporting countries adjust public spending to functional budgets within the framework of renewable energies. The authors conclude that a gradual transition and balancing of the energy matrix are essential to reduce greenhouse gases causing global warming and ensure energy sustainability without drastically impacting nations' economies.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo: O conceito de transição energética está presente na agenda política global como um processo indispensável no desenvolvimento sustentável dos países. Neste contexto, o artigo documenta o desenvolvimento da pesquisa no domínio do conhecimento da transição energética sustentável como um pilar da agenda geopolítica global e reflete sobre os desafios que este fenômeno implica a partir de perspectivas de pesquisa, geopolíticas e geoeconômicas. A metodologia utilizada envolve revisão de literatura combinada com análise bibliométrica e técnicas de análise de conteúdo de documentos de pesquisa recuperados na base de dados Web of Science e em setores específicos. Os achados mais representativos indicam o seguinte: em primeiro lugar, o Acordo de Paris impulsionou a pesquisa relacionada ao desenvolvimento sustentável, à transição e à segurança energética em termos técnicos, culturais, sociais, políticos e econômicos; em segundo lugar, em termos geopolíticos, o processo de transição energética desempenha um papel decisivo no xadrez político global, no qual os países avaliam suas forças em relação à continuidade do fornecimento de energia para seus cidadãos; e em terceiro lugar, em termos geoeconômicos, os países exportadores de carvão e petróleo estão ajustando os gastos públicos a orçamentos funcionais em um contexto de energias renováveis. Os autores concluem que uma transição gradual e o equilíbrio da matriz energética são fundamentais para reduzir as emissões de gases de efeito estufa que causam o aquecimento global e garantir a sustentabilidade energética sem afetar drasticamente a economia das nações.]]></p></abstract>
