Su visión de esta música se relaciona con las experiencias que tuvo en medio del auge y la difusión inicial de este género de la música argentina. Este artículo propone una revisión sobre la relación de Borges y el tango. La finalidad y el propósito con la que se hace esta revisión es la de entender la colaboración entre Borges y Piazzolla en el álbum de 1965, titulado El tango. Se hace, por tanto, una revisión bibliográfica y documental de fuentes críticas acerca de la obra del escritor argentino y el tango. Así, el último apartado condensa lo que se ha escrito acerca de la relación entre Borges y Piazzolla. Así, el tango se entiende como obra mítica y la milonga como formadora del tango en la versión del tango canción y la visión de Borges al respecto. Borges tiene una visión conservadora del tango. Borges preserva la visión mítica del tango, los análisis de las fuentes muestran que no compartía las nuevas formas de hacer la música argentina. Esto fue lo que lo llevó a discrepar con Piazzolla, no solo con la visión que cada uno tenía del tango, sino con el resultado de su álbum de 1965.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The bond between Borges and tango is very close. His vision about this music is related to the experiences he lived while tango started to spread and succeed in Argentina. This paper is a literature review of Borges' relationship with tango. The main purpose of this revision is to understand the collaboration between Borges and Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) in 1965. The last section of the paper is preceded by an analysis of Borges' tango mythical vision. The approach to this literature review is shaped by the bibliography that focuses on Borges and tango, as well as the works which study the relationship between Borges and Piazzolla. Borges' idea of tango is attached to the tradition which creates milonga as a rural music style. This music when it arrived in Buenos Aires was enriched with oral tradition and popular culture. This literature review reveals that Borges preferred the mythical vision of tango instead the innovation. The connection between tango and Borges presented here is the basis to reconsider the result of Borges and Piazzolla's collaboration. It also contributes to the study between music and literature by the Argentinian author. Moreover, it is the foundation to elaborate a new approach with respect to tango.]]></p></abstract>

Sua visão desse gênero musical se relaciona com as experiências que teve no meio do auge e da difusão inicial desse gênero musical argentino. Este artigo propõe uma revisão sobre a relação de Borges e o tango. A finalidade e o propósito da revisão é entender a colaboração entre Borges e Piazzolla no álbum de 1965, intitulado O tango. Desenvolve-se, portanto, uma revisão bibliográfica e documental de fontes críticas acerca da obra do escritor argentino e do tango. A última seção condensa o que tem sido escrito sobre a relação entre Borges e Piazzolla. Assim, o tango é entendido como obra mítica e a milonga como formadora do tango na versão canção e a visão de Borges a respeito. Borges tem uma visão conservadora do tango. Borges preserva a visão mítica do tango, as análises das fontes mostram que ele não compartilhava as novas formas de fazer música argentina. Esse foi o motivo pelo qual não concordou com Piazzolla, não só com a visão que cada um tinha do tango, mas com o resultado de seu álbum de 1965.]]></p></abstract>
