La pandemia de influenza de 1918 no solo impactó en el desarrollo de la campaña electoral, sino que modificó para siempre los pilares de la comunicación política del momento. El artículo busca analizar las tendencias en las primeras campañas electorales celebradas durante la pandemia de covid-19 que podrían, igual que ocurrió en 1918, ser constitutivas de una nueva etapa de la comunicación política digital. Se analizaron las elecciones al Parlamento de Galicia en 2020. Se utilizó la triangulación metodológica con las siguientes técnicas de extracción y análisis de datos: revisión de bibliografía; análisis de contenido de webs y recursos digitales utilizados por los partidos en redes sociales; entrevistas con los periodistas que cubrieron la campaña en radio, prensa, televisión, agencias de información y medios digitales. Además, se hizo un seguimiento especial de Twitter, porque se ha convertido en uno de los principales elementos de difusión en comunicación política en campaña electoral. Los resultados muestran una intensa búsqueda de la presencialidad y del compromiso del ciudadano a través de nuevas estrategias de control del mensaje.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract COVID-19 has been changing politics, especially during election periods when the search for votes intensifies. The influenza pandemic of 1918 (misnamed Spanish flu) not only had impacted the development of electoral campaigns but also forever changed the pillars of political communication. This article seeks to analyze the trends in the first election campaigns held during COVID-19 that could, as happened in 1918, constitute a new stage of digital political communication. The elections to the Galician Parliament in 2020 are discussed. Methodological triangulation is used with the following data extraction and analysis techniques: 1) systematic literature review; 2) content analysis of websites and digital resources used by the parties in social networks; 3) interviews with journalists who covered the campaign in radio, press, television, news agencies, and digital media. Twitter was also monitored because it has become one of the main means of political communication during electoral campaigns. The results show an intense search for citizen presence and engagement through new message control strategies.]]></p></abstract>

A pandemia ocasionada pela influenza de 1918 impactou não somente o desenvolvimento da campanha eleitoral, mas também modificou os pilares da comunicação política do momento. Este artigo analisa as tendências nas primeiras campanhas eleitorais ocorridas durante a pandemia ocasionada pela covid-19 que poderiam, assim como em 1918, constituir uma nova etapa da comunicação política digital. Foram analisadas as eleições do Parlamento de Galícia em 2020. Foi utilizada a triangulação metodológica com as seguintes técnicas de extração e análise de dados: revisão de literatura; análise de conteúdo de páginas webs e recursos digitais utilizados pelos partidos em redes sociais; entrevistas com jornalistas que cobriram a campanha em rádio, imprensa, televisão, agências de informação e meios digitais. Além disso, foi feito um seguimento especial do Twitter, porque ele se tornou um dos principais elementos de difusão na comunicação política em campanha eleitoral. Os resultados mostram uma intensa busca da presencialidade e do compromisso do cidadão por meio de novas estratégias de controle do discurso.]]></p></abstract>
