Sin embargo, estas políticas han tenido efectos subestimados en el desarrollo profesional, las trayectorias laborales y la identidad ocupacional de los docentes, que sin duda impactan la enseñanza. El artículo analiza el Sistema de Evaluación del Desempeño Profesional Docente (SEDPD), vigente en Chile desde el año 2003, entendido como una herramienta de política que busca principalmente el fortalecimiento de la profesión. Es una investigación cualitativa, de tipo documental y de alcance descriptivo. Las principales conclusiones son que tanto la ejecución del sistema como el efecto en las percepciones en los docentes permiten considerar este sistema más bien como un escenario de mantención de competencias mínimas y escasas posibilidades de un desarrollo continuo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Analysis of public policies that frame the task of teaching has been regarded in Chile, from the beginning, as an effort to promote teaching skills that allow for effective learning on the part of students. However, the repercussions these policies have had on the professional development, career paths and occupational identity of teachers, which undoubtedly affect teaching, have been underestimated. This article analyzes the Teacher Professional Performance Appraisal System (SEDPD), which has been used in Chile since 2003. It is understood as a policy tool that seeks primarily to strengthen the profession. This is a qualitative, documentary study with a descriptive scope. The main conclusions are that execution of the system and the effect on teachers&#8217; perceptions have led it to be regarded as a scenario where minimum skills are maintained and possibilities for continuous development are limited.]]></p></abstract>

Contudo, essas políticas vêm tendo efeitos subestimados no desenvolvimento profissional, nas trajetórias laborais e na identidade ocupacional dos docentes, que, sem dúvida, impactam o ensino. Este artigo analisa o Sistema de Avaliação do Desempenho Profissional Docente, vigente no Chile desde 2003, entendido como uma ferramenta de política que procura, principalmente, o fortalecimento da profissão. É uma pesquisa qualitativa, de tipo documental e de alcance descritivo. As principais conclusões são que tanto a execução do sistema quanto o efeito nas percepções nos docentes permitem considerar esse sistema como um cenário de manutenção de competências mínimas e de escassas possibilidades de um desenvolvimento contínuo.]]></p></abstract>
