Para ello, metodológicamente, se desarrollaron tareas en una batería neuropsicológica de funciones ejecutivas (Banfe-2) con 76 estudiantes, por grupos (de casos y control); seguidamente se llevó a cabo un programa de formación en ajedrez con el grupo de casos y se realizó el postest con los dos grupos; y luego se realizó la comparación al momento de iniciar el experimento (pretest) y al momento de finalizar el experimento (postest). Los hallazgos del coeficiente de variación en el Banfe indican gran variabilidad cognitiva a favor del grupo de casos. La conclusión es que la práctica del ajedrez se puede asociar a un mejor desempeño ejecutivo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article describes the executive performance status of a sample of high school students enrolled in an official educational institution in Bogota, Colombia, regarding working memory, inhibitory control, cognitive flexibility, planning, and metacognition. For this purpose, methodologically, tasks were developed in a neuropsychological battery of executive functions (Banfe-2) with 76 students, by groups (cases and control); then a training program in chess was carried out with the group of cases and the post-test was performed with the two groups; and then the comparison was made at the time of starting the experiment (pre-test) and at the time of ending the experiment (post-test). The findings of the coefficient of variation in the Banfe indicate great cognitive variability in favor of the case group. The conclusion is that chess practice can be associated with better executive performance.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo O objetivo deste artigo é descrever o estado do desempenho executivo de uma amostra de alunos do ensino médio matriculados em uma instituição educacional oficial de Bogotá, Colômbia, em termos de memória de trabalho, controle inibitório, flexibilidade cognitiva, planejamento e metacognição. Para isso, metodologicamente, foram desenvolvidas tarefas em uma bateria neuropsicológica de funções executivas (Banfe-2) com 76 alunos, por grupos (casos e controle); em seguida, foi realizado um programa de treinamento em xadrez com o grupo de casos e o pós-teste foi realizado com os dois grupos; e, em seguida, foi feita a comparação no momento do início do experimento (pré-teste) e no momento do término do experimento (pós-teste).
