Se trata de documentos elaborados por ciudadanos comprometidos con el registro escrito de la migración de la mariposa monarca. Se llevó a cabo un análisis etnográfico de cinco materiales seleccionados de una colección de casi 300 documentos. Se realizaron entrevistas con sus autores más la revisión de los textos para identificar aspectos relacionados con el formato y la superficie de inscripción. El análisis del lenguaje escrito permitió identificar las intenciones de los autores, así como los espacios donde los textos se elaboraron y circularon. Los principales hallazgos muestran que, a diferencia de la reproducción de géneros científicos que se promueve en iniciativas similares, la ciencia escolar y la ciencia profesional, los participantes de Correo Real elaboran textos de reporte que pueden ser categorizados como reportes científicos, cartas, informe de actividades, textos personales y solicitudes de apoyo, desafiando la estabilidad y homogeneidad de la escritura que se realiza en tareas científicas. Estos hallazgos dan pie a discutir la pertinencia de considerar el género textual como una acción social ya que en su producción se articulan distintas voces, intenciones, lenguajes sociales y significados, pero sobre todo muestra distintas formas de participar en la ciencia a través de una escritura plural y significativa para sus autores.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This paper presents the findings of research work on written reports prepared by members of citizen science endeavor dubbed The Royal Post (Correo Real) in Mexico. Those are documents prepared by citizens committed to record in written Monarch butterfly migration. An ethnographic analysis was performed on five materials chosen from a collection of nearly 300 documents. Interviews were held with their authors, as well as their texts revised in order to identify aspects related to the format and the inscription surface. Analysing written texts allowed us to identify their authors&#8217; aims, as well as the spaces where they were prepared and disseminated. Our main findings suggest that, unlike the reproduction of science genres, encouraged in similar efforts -science at school and professional science-, participants at The Royal Post prepare reports that may be classified as scientific reports, letters, activity reports, personal texts, and support requests, challenging the stability and homogeneity of writing done in scientific tasks. These findings lead to discuss the pertinence of considering textual genres as social action, since in producing them, different voices, aims, social languages, and meanings are articulated, but most of all, this shows varied ways to participate in science through plural writing, meaningful for its authors.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo O presente artigo mostra as descobertas de uma pesquisa sobre os textos de relatório que produzem participantes de uma iniciativa de ciência cidadã no México denominada Correo Real. Trata-se de documentos elaborados por cidadãos comprometidos com o registro escrito da migração da borboleta monarca. Realizou-se uma análise etnográfica de cinco materiais selecionados de uma coleção de quase 300 documentos. Efetuaram-se entrevistas com seus autores, assim como a revisão dos textos para identificar aspectos relacionados com o formato e a superfície de inscrição. A análise da linguagem escrita permitiu identificar as intenções dos autores, assim como os espaços onde se elaboraram e circularam. As principais descobertas mostram que, diferentemente da reprodução de gêneros científicos que se promove em iniciativas similares, a ciência escolar e a ciência profissional, os participantes do Correo Real elaboram textos de relatórios que podem ser categorizados como relatórios científicos, cartas, relatórios de atividades, textos pessoais e solicitações de apoio, desafiando a estabilidade e homogeneidade da escritura que se realiza em tarefas científicas. Estas descobertas levam a discutir a pertinência de considerar o gênero textual como uma ação social, já que em sua produção se articulam diferentes vozes, intenções, linguagens sociais e significados, mas sobretudo mostra diferentes formas de participar na ciência através de uma escritura plural e significativa para seus autores.]]></p></abstract>
