Se utilizó una metodología de modelos de ecuaciones estructurales con mínimos cuadrados parciales, a partir de una encuesta aplicada a 113 integrantes de equipos directivos de empresas colombianas. Se identificó que el liderazgo compartido del equipo directivo tiene un efecto positivo sobre el desempeño organizacional y el capital social ejerce una mediación total en esta relación. Los hallazgos permiten resaltar la importancia de compartir las responsabilidades del liderazgo para fomentar el capital social en las organizaciones y de esta forma alcanzar los objetivos organizacionales con un mejor desempeño. <abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This study analyzed the mediating effect of social capital on the relationship between shared leadership in the management teams of Colombian companies and organizational performance. Through a survey applied to 113 directors of Colombian companies, a structural equation model was evaluated using the methodology of partial least squares. It was identified that the shared leadership of the management team has a positive effect on the organizational performance and that social capital exerts a total mediation in this relationship. The findings highlight the importance of sharing leadership responsibilities to foster social capital in organizations and thus achieve organizational objectives with improved performance.]]></p></abstract>

Foi utilizada uma metodologia de modelos de equações estruturais com mínimos quadrados parciais, com base em uma pesquisa aplicada a 113 membros de equipes de gestão de empresas colombianas. Identificou-se que a liderança compartilhada da equipe gestora tem efeito positivo no desempenho organizacional e o capital social exerce uma mediação total nessa relação. Os achados permitem destacar a importância de compartilhar responsabilidades de liderança para promover o capital social nas organizações e, assim, atingir os objetivos organizacionais com melhor desempenho.]]></p></abstract>
