Esta crisis no puede estar desarticulada de la primera invasión llevada a cabo por Rusia, en febrero de 2014, sino que están directamente relacionadas y crea, en esta ocasión, una crisis más impredecible y realmente sistémica. Este artículo utiliza una amplia gama de categorías o axiomas del realismo contemporáneo, así como una revisión de fuentes primarias y secundarias, para señalar las principales implicaciones en seguridad y geopolíticas, la afectación energética y la utilización de sanciones económicas y financieras como arma de guerra en el viejo continente, principalmente por Estados Unidos, la Unión Europea y Rusia.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Russia's invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, 2022 and is still ongoing, generating impacts at different levels and with different degrees of intensity both in Europe and in other regions. This crisis cannot be disjointed from the first invasion carried out by Russia in February 2014: rather they are directly related, generating on this occasion a more unpredictable and truly systemic crisis. This article uses a wide range of categories or axioms of contemporary realism, as well as a review of primary and secondary sources, to point out the main security and geopolitical implications, the energy impact, and to discuss the use of economic and financial sanctions as a weapon of war in the old continent, mainly by the United States, the European Union and Russia.]]></p></abstract>

Esta crise não pode ser dissociada da primeira invasão levada a cabo pela Rússia em fevereiro de 2014, mas está diretamente relacionada, gerando nesta ocasião uma crise mais imprevisível e verdadeiramente sistêmica. Este artigo utiliza uma ampla gama de categorias ou axiomas do realismo contemporâneo, bem como uma revisão de fontes primárias e secundárias, para apontar as principais implicações na segurança e na geopolítica, o impacto energético e o uso de sanções econômicas e financeiras como arma de guerra no velho continente, principalmente por parte dos Estados Unidos, da União Europeia e da Rússia.]]></p></abstract>
