Se utilizó como eje la teoría del liderazgo de rango completo de Bass y Avolio, en sus tres estilos: transformacional, transaccional y no liderazgo.  Metodología: A partir de sesiones con 30 directores de instituciones educativas mexicanas de nivel básico, medio y superior, y el soporte del cuestionario multifactorial de liderazgo (MLQ) se identificaron los tipos de liderazgo de los participantes.  Resultados principales: Se identificó que los directores tienen un estilo de liderazgo mixto: transaccional y transformacional. En lo particular se destaca el estilo de influencia idealizada conductual.  Conclusiones: Con una adecuada orientación se propone desarrollar los talentos de liderazgo transformacional de los directores de instituciones educativas y su equipo. Estos resultados pueden ser un punto de partida para investigaciones futuras.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Objective: This scientific research article presents the diagnosis of the leadership styles of the chief directors of Mexican educational institutions in their task as promoters of success in their organizations through the achievement of academic excellence. Bass and Avolio's Full Range Leadership theory was used as the guiding axis of the study, in its three styles: transformational, transactional, and non-leadership leadership.  Methodology: From a non-probabilistic sample of 30 directors of Mexican educational institutions, basic, intermediate, and higher levels, and using the data obtained from the Multifactorial Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) their leadership styles were identified.  Key findings: The results show the directors have a mixed, transactional, and transformational leadership style; in particular, the idealized behavioral influence style stands out.  Conclusions: With adequate guidance, it is proposed to develop the transformational leadership talents of directors of educational institutions and their teams. These results are a starting point for future research.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo  Objetivo: Neste artigo de pesquisa científica, procuramos identificar os estilos de liderança dos diretores-executivos de instituições educacionais mexicanas em sua tarefa de promotores do sucesso e da excelência acadêmica em suas organizações. O estudo se baseou na teoria da liderança de gama completa de Bass e Avolio, em seus três estilos: transformacional, transacional e não liderança.  Metodologia: Com base em sessões com 30 diretores de instituições educacionais mexicanas, nos níveis básico, médio e superior, e com o apoio do questionário multi-fatorial MLQ (Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire).  Principais resultados: Foi identificado que os diretores têm um estilo de liderança misto, transacional e transformacional, com destaque para o estilo de influência comportamental idealizada.  Conclusões: Com orientação adequada, propõe-se desenvolver os talentos de liderança transformacional dos diretores de instituições educacionais e de sua equipe.
