Esta aplicación se considera del tipo de arte evolutivo, siendo de gran importancia la codificación y la función objetivo que se emplea en el algoritmo genético para obtener el resultado esperado. Como principal aporte se propone la codificación de las notas musicales teniendo en cuenta su duración, altura y la aplicación de las reglas de armonía musical. El desempeño del sistema se analiza desde los puntos de vista matemático y musical.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT In this paper, genetic algorithms are applied to the creation of polyphonic arrangements for traditional music from the Andean region in Colombia. This application is considered a type of evolutionary art, being codification and the target function used in the genetic algorithm of utmost importance to obtain the expected result. Our main contribution is to propose the codification of musical notes based on length and pitch, and the use of musical harmony rules. The system performance is analyzed from mathematical and musical standpoints.]]></p></abstract>
